Since 2016, we have committed to redeeming orphans and our village in Northern Uganda. Driven by the testimonies of our Founders, our empathy for the fatherless fuels our compassion to care for orphans, preserve their families, and develop their communities.

Our solution to the orphan crisis in Northern Uganda is to care for orphans, to preserve families, and to develop vulnerable communities through the message of The Gospel.

What We've Achieved
September 2016- Jordan Ocen (formerly Sharp) founded Gen House — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
June 2017- Founder, Jordan returned to Uganda to join Co-Founder, Ocen in search of 10 acres of land
July 2017- Gen House became a registered nonprofit in Gulu, Uganda
January 2018- Gen House acquired 15.5 acres of land in Acut Omer village (Gulu)
November 2018- Gen House held its first gala, Pearl Gaze: Tale of the Northern Pearl
December 2018- Gen House broke ground and completed its borehole to supply clean water in the village, Acut Omer
October 2019- Founder, Jordan relocated to Uganda
March 2020- Gen House launched its church plant, The Word Community Church, headed by Co-Founder and Evangelist, Ocen
June 2020- Gen House raised through some of Phase III of the construction of its first children’s home
December 2020- Gen House launched its Let’s Grow Gen House campaign for the purchase of 20 additional acres of land
January 2021- Gen House broke ground and began the construction of its first children’s home
March 2021- Gen House planted its church in the village called The Word Community Church
